About Us

Godly Patriotism: Discovering Purpose Beyond Differences

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10).

At JEJO Foundation for Peace and Development, we believe that patriotism is not about elevating one group above another, but about recognizing the unique gifts God has placed in every person for the common good. True patriotism inspires citizens to serve their nation with integrity, compassion, and responsibility while respecting the dignity of all people created in God’s image.

Working across East Africa, we promote peacebuilding, civic education, youth leadership, and women’s empowerment that strengthen national identity without creating division. We encourage individuals to focus on their God-given purpose, talents, and calling rather than on ethnic, tribal, political, or cultural differences.

Josiane Umulinga

Our Founder

From Personal Journey to Regional Movement

Josiane Umulinga founded JEJO Foundation with a vision born from lived experience. Understanding the deep wounds that misguided nationalism can inflict on communities, she set out to prove that loving one’s country doesn’t require hating one’s neighbor.

Today, she leads a growing movement of young people across East Africa who are reclaiming the meaning of patriotism—building bridges across borders while celebrating the rich diversity that makes the region unique.
